PTA Meeting Minutes 11/1/05
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 PM.
Co-president Lisa Allendorph presented the following funding requests:

1. Up to $1000 for gasoline for up to 2 vans transporting the school supplies and books donated to the Hurricane Suzanna Relief Project. Sixth graders are collecting backpacks and school supplies, 7th graders are raising money through a read-a-thon, 8th graders are collecting new and gently used books. Several teachers will be driving the supplies to Natchez, Mississippi.
2. Jody Monroe and Sandy Morley, Principal and Vice Principal, requested up to $500 for new folding tables used at socials and special events. The cost is $80-90 per table.
3. Tom Reardon, English teacher in grade 8 requested up to $250 for healthy snacks (granola bars, water etc.) to have available for the breaks during the upcoming 8th grade testing day.

All funding requests were approved.

Presidents¡¯ Council Subcommittee Report
Discussion centered around the new space considerations and the new initiative district wide incorporating programs from the National Coalition Building Institute. The NCBI is a program that trains students and staff in dealing with issues related to bullying, racism, and the like. This is an ongoing concern at all schools/grade levels. The website for the NCBI will be included in the next School newsletter.

School Advisory Council Subcommittee Report
The group has met once and set 2 main goals for the year.
1. Improving the cleanliness and aesthetics of the building.
2. Expanding opportunities for social activities for the 7th and 8th graders.
