Opening an account at a bank
After you chose which account you will go for,
Fill out an application form (신청서 작성)
Present necessary documents (구비서류 제출): driver’s license (면허증), social security
number (사회보장번호), passport (여권), etc.
Get your temporary checkbook and ATM card (임시 수표책과 현금카드 발급)

현찰과 수표를 입금하는 경우의 차이: 현찰은 입금 후 언제라도 출금이 가능하나 수표는 현금화 될 얼마간의 기간을 필요로 하므로 즉시 출금이 가능하지 않다.

용어;
deposit: 입금
withdrawl: 인출
ATM (Automated Teller Machine) card (현금인출 카드)
debit card (현금 인출이 가능한 신용카드)
clear the check: 수표가 결제되다.
endorse the check: 수표에 이서하다.
PIN (Personal Identification Number): 비밀번호
Task

1. How much is the customer able to withdraw tomorrow?
2. What is the first step to open a new account?

Bank Officer; Now, you’ll need to fill out this application and I’ll have to see two pieces of ID. How much money were you planning to deposit to start with?

Customer: Ah. Let me check my wallet. Fifty, sixty, seventy, ninety, ninety-five. Hmm. Ninety dollars. Plus this $200 unemployment check. So, $290 all together.

Bank Officer: Okay. You’ll have to endorse the check. And you can draw on the ninety dollars right away. The check will require seven business days to clear before you can draw on it.
