Moving from dorm to an apartment (II)
이사하기 전에 고려해야 할 사항

1) Give notices of cancellation; subscription, cleaning, lawn care, etc
(각종 서비스를 중단하거나 이전시킨다- 신문구독, 청소, 잔디관리등)

2) Wrap up your loose ends; return all borrowed items, cleaning out, etc
(대여물품을 반납하고 청소한다.)

3) Arrange for the disconnection or changeover of your UTILITIES
(이사 1~2주쯤 전에 전기, 가스등의 명의를 취소하거나 이전한다.).
Task

Linda: I found a really nice one-bedroom only twenty minutes from school.

James: That sounds good. Do you have to pay for gas and electric at the new place?

Linda: Yes, I do. And since I’ve got you on the line, can you tell me how I make sure I have electricity when I move in?

James: Well, you have to call the utilities company and tell them where and when you’re moving. They may require a deposit if it’s your first apartment in the city. Ah, what about phone?

Linda: I have called the phone company to change my phone. It turns out they won’t change the home number because it’s in the same area.

A: Can you tell me how I make sure clean out the carpet? (카페트를 확실하게 청소하는 법을 알려주세요.)

B: Well, you have to hire a cleaning company. (청소회사에 부탁하세요.)

2) when, where 주어 + 동사;

A: Can you tell me how I cancel the newspaper subscription when I move out? (제가 이사갈 때, 어떻게 신문구독을 취소하는지 알려주시겠어요?)

B: Send them a written notification before you move out. (이시가기 전에 서면통지를 보내세요.)

A: Finally, tell your moving company when and where you are moving. (최종적으로 언제, 어디로 이사가는지 이삿짐 센터에 알려주세요.)

B: All right. I’ll call them right away. (좋아요. 당장 전화하지요.)

3) Turn out: ~로 밝혀지다. ~의 결과가 되다.

A: It turns out it takes only 10 minutes from new apartment to school. (새 아파트에서 학교까지 10분밖에 걸리지 않는것으로 밝혀졌어.)

B: That’s great. You can save a lot of time now. (좋은데. 시간이 굉장히 절약되겠네.)
