Mail important parcels (I); International mail (국제우편)

국제우편 보내기
1. Finding out what types of services are available (이용 가능한 서비스의 종류를 확인)
2. Telling the clerk where you’re sending your parcel and when you want it to be deliver (소포나 편지가 보내 질 목적지를 확인)
3. Asking the clerk about the rates and mail it. (금액 확인후 송부)

Aerogramme: 봉투의 안쪽에 사연을 적어 그대로 부치도록 되어있는 우편의 형태
M-Bags: 다량의 인쇄물을 한 주소지로 부치는 우편의 형태

Types of mail: 우편 서비스의 형태
Express Mail; It’s an overnight delivery service. Most expensive but the fastest. (가격은 비싸지만 시간을 다투는 우편이라면 급행우편으로 송부한다.)
Priority Mail: Fastest mail service among regular mail services (보통우편 중에서는 가장 빠른우편으로 스티커나 Priority 봉투에 넣은 채로 송부된다.)
Insured Mail: Insurance varies according to the coverage. (우편물의 중요도에 따라 그에 알맞는 보험을 구입 할 수 있다.)

*International Reply Coupon: 발신자가 차후에 도착 하게 될 수신자의 우편을 선지급하는 것으로 수신자는 우체국에서 이 coupon을 우표로 교환 할 수 있다.

TASK
1) Is the customer going to buy insurance for his parcel?
2) You are at the post office to send some tapes to Korea. You want it to be mailed within 3 days. Start a conversation

Customer: Good afternoon. I wonder if you could help me figure out the best way to send some important materials to Korea quickly.
Clerk: What kind of materials are they? And how fast do you want them to get there?
Customer: Well, they’re some papers and a floppy disk. And I'd like them to get there within three days.
Clerk: Do you want to insure them?
Customer: Not necessarily. They’re important, but they’re replaceable.
Clerk: I’d suggest Express Mail. Priority mail is also fast, but I can’t guarantee it will arrive in four days.
Customer: How much is Express Mail?
Clerk: About $16.00 overseas.

1) Asking for service: 서비스 신청
A: What's the fastest way to send this letter to Korea? (이 편지를 한국에 부치는데 가장 빠른 방법은 무엇인가요?)
B: Let me see. (어디 봅시다.)

A: Can you tell me the safest way to send this package to Korea? (이 소포를 한국에 부치는 데 가장 안전한 방법은 무엇인가요?)
B: What's in the box? (상자 안에 무엇이 들었나요?)

A: How long does it take for his letter to get there? (편지가 거기까지 가는 데 얼마나 걸리나요?)
B: For about a week. (약 한 주요.)

2) Giving details: 세부사항 이야기 하기
A: I'd like to send this letter to England, and I want it to be there within 3 days. (이 편지를 영국에 보내고 싶구요, 3일 만에 도착했으면 좋겠는데요.)
B: Express mail seems to be the best option for you. (급행우편이 가장 적당할 것 같군요.)

A: We have airmail and surface mail. Which one would you prefer? (항공우편과 육로우편이 있는데 어떤 것으로 하시겠어요?)
B: What's the difference between them? (두 개의 차이점은 무엇인가요?)

A: What are they? (무엇인가요?)
B: They are some documents with photos. (서류와 사진인데요.)

3) Asking for special services: 특수 서비스
A: I’d like to buy some international postal money order. (국제 우편 전신환을 사고 싶은데요.)
B: Where would you send it to? (어디로 보내실 건데요?)

A: I’d like to insure this package. (이 소포에 보험을 들고 싶은데요.)
B: Well, you have several options. (음, 몇 가지의 종류가 있는데요.)

Can you tell me the fastest way to send this parcel to Korea? I want it to get there within 3 days.
