Filing a medical insurance claim (III); 의료보험신청

Deductibles; 공제액.

보험가입자가 지불해야 하는 액수. 연간 기준으로 지정 할 수도있고 건당으로 지정할 수도 있다. 공제액의 액수가 많아 질수록 premium 의 액수는 줄어든다. 1) Once you have paid the deductible during the policy year, the insurance company will pay for covered medical expenses for the rest of the policy year in accordance with the terms of the policy. 2) Under a per occurrence deductible, you must pay the deductible amount for each separate sickness or injury. If you have five claims in one year, you would have to pay the deductible five times.

Task
1) How much does the holder need to pay after all?
2) Ask the agent how much the deductible is for your claim, and get your claim identification number.

Agent: Are you aware that you have a $140 deductible per claim, $400 per year?
Holder: Hmm. Since this required several doctor visits, is it going to count as one claim or more than one?
Agent: Don’t worry. It is one medical problem-your fall. That’s one claim. And after your third claim this year, you won’t have to pay anything because you’ll have run through the $400 deductible.
Holder: I hope there won’t be any more! So …. I have to pay $140 of this, is that the idea?
Agent: Right.

1) Understanding the nature of your deductibles: 본인의 공제액의 성격을 확인
A: Is that amount per claim or per year? (이 액수가 건 당인가요, 연간기준인가요?)
B: That’s per claim. (건 당입니다.)

A: Can you explain how deductibles work? (공제액이 어떻게 되는 것인지 말씁해 주세요.)
B: Okay. They go like this. (예. 이렇게 되는거지요.)

2) Confirming what you have understood
A: So I have to pay $ 160, right? (그래서, $160 이라는 거지요? 그지요?)
B: Yes, right. (네, 그래요.)

A: Does that mean I have to pay $140 of this? (제사 $140 을 내야한다는 말씀인가요?)
B: Correct. (맞아요.)

3) reimbursement
A: Your claim number is 159538. Got that? (접수번호는 159538 입니다. 아시겠어요?)
B: How soon should I be getting reimbursement? (언제쯤 돈을 받을 수 있을까요?)

A: You should get your check by next week. (다음 주쯤에는 수표를 받을 수 있을 겁니다.)
B: Thank you for your help. (감사합니다.)
