Getting a driver¡¯s license (I)
International Driver¡¯s License (±¹Á¦¿îÀü ¸éÇãÁõ): Valid for a year (1³â°£ À¯È¿)

Drivers under 18 years old: need parent¡¯s permission (18¼¼ ÀÌÇÏÀÇ Áö¿øÀÚ´Â ºÎ¸ðÀÇ µ¿Àǰ¡ ÇÊ¿ä)

1) Turn in an application form at a local DMV office (Áö¿ª DMV »ç¹«¼Ò¿¡ ½Åû¼­¸¦ Á¦Ãâ)

2) Pass the written test (Çʱâ½ÃÇè ÇÕ°Ý)

3) Get a permit (½Ç±â½ÃÇèÀ» À§ÇÑ ¿îÀü¿¬¼ö¸¦ ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ´Â permit Ãëµæ)

4) Pass the road test (ÁÖÇà½ÃÇè ÇÕ°Ý)

Task

1) What will the applicant get after passing the written test?

2) You are at the DMV office. You want to get the driver¡¯s license as your international license has been expired. You can drive, so you want to apply for the road test as soon as possible.

DMV officer: Department of Motor Vehicles. May I help you?

Applicant: Yes. I¡¯d like some information about getting a driver¡¯s license, please.

DMV Officer: Certainly. Are you over 18 years old?

Applicant: Yes, I am.

DMV Officer: Then you will need a birth certificate, a passport or some other proof of birth date. Bring that to the DMV and fill out an application for a learner¡¯s permit. Take the written test, pay the fees, and you will be issued your permit. When you are ready, you can come in and take the road test.

Applicant: Ah, actually, I already know how to drive. So I¡¯d like to sign up for the road test as soon as possible.
