James: Hello. Is Min-ho Lee there, please?
Min-ho: Speaking.
James: Hi. My name’s James Haines. I’m calling about the ad you placed in the school paper for a conversation partner. Have you found anybody, yet?
Min-ho: No. As a matter of fact, you’re the first person to call.
James: Really?
Min-ho: Are you a native speaker?
James: Born and bred right here in Seattle. Where are you from?
Min-ho: Korea.

A: Can I speak to Mr. Kim, please? (김선생님 부탁합니다.)
B: This is he. (전데요.)
2) I’m calling about ~ for ~. Have you found anybody, yet?: position의 availabity check
A: I’m calling about the ad you placed on the bulletin board for a part-time position. Is it still available? (게시판에서 본 파트타임모집 광고를 보고 전화드립니다. 아직도 비어있나요?)
B: I’m sorry. I have found someone already. (죄송합니다. 벌써 채워졌는데요.)
3) born and bred in ~ : ~ 의 토박이
A: Where were you born? (어디서 태어았나요?)
B: I was born in Korea, but have been grown up in the States. (한국에서 태어났지만 미국에서 성장했어요.) |
